Plant Evolutionary Ecology
Department(s)
Description
Evolutionary ecology is connected to branches of population biology, genetics, and conservation primarily through shared concepts and techniques. This course will provide an historical context for the study of plant ecology and evolution. It will consider approaches ranging from traditional ecological methods to molecular genetics used to address questions about adaptation to a diverse set of abiotic and biotic agents of natural selection. Readings will be taken from the text; a current research study will be explored in an oral presentation by each student of a recently published paper and in a written research paper.
