Description
450 internship hours. First of two One Year Residency (OYR) internship courses. Students are placed in a social work setting that specializes in an area of disabilities – physical, developmental, and/or mental health – for 24 hours per week for a total of 450 hours for the first semester. Students work under the supervision of a licensed MSW professional who provides guidance for learning in cooperation with the student's faculty liaison at CSI. Advanced direct interaction with individuals, groups and communities from diverse backgrounds aid the student with integrating concepts and principles from the classroom into their field setting. Placements are made in students’ place of employment. Students are expected to actively participate in the delivery of social work services. Each student's placement is expected to include practice opportunities that will assist in the development of the core competencies.
