The Department of Nursing offers the Doctor of Nursing Practice, Advanced Adult Clinical Care. Restructuring healthcare organizations and reforms have created new roles for advanced practice nurses, especially those with doctoral level preparation. This program is offered in the distance education format.
Focused on the Adult population, the DNP program is designed to meet health care systems needs and to provide education at the highest level of clinical nursing practice. Graduates are prepared to implement and lead systems changes to eliminate health disparities in accordance with the Quadruple Aim.
Goals of the Program:
Critically evaluate and translate research into practice.
Create and advocate for policies aimed at optimal patient care and health equity.
Lead pioneering changes in health care delivery systems.
Optimize resource allocation to address value-based care, improve safety, quality and reduce cost while addressing the well-being of advanced practice nursing healthcare professionals.
Established best practices in the care of adult populations in a variety of systems to establish preventive care, chronic disease management, address health disparities and overall improving the health of communities.
